Hello, I'm Arjun Vijayan

I’m a Product Designer with a background in building and leading digital products across education, mobility, and early-stage platforms.

My work sits at the intersection of user experience, systems thinking, and delivery; translating complex problems into clear, reliable product experiences. I’m particularly interested in products where trust, clarity, and usability are critical to success.

Over the past few years, I’ve worked across multidisciplinary teams, partnering with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to design solutions that are both user-centred and technically grounded.

How I Work

I approach design as a decision-making discipline, not just a creative one.

That means:

  • Starting with problem framing, not screens

  • Understanding technical, business, and human constraints early

  • Designing for real-world conditions, not ideal scenarios

  • Making trade-offs explicit and intentional

I value clarity over complexity, and I focus on designing experiences that are simple to use, resilient under pressure, and scalable over time.

Background

I hold a Master’s degree in Integrated Product Design from Brunel University London.

Before transitioning fully into product design, I spent over three years leading digital learning development teams, where I worked on large-scale digital learning systems and collaborated closely with subject matter experts, designers, and engineers. This experience shaped how I think about systems, structure, and long-term product impact.

More recently, I’ve worked on early-stage and concept products, contributing to discovery, research, interaction design, and end-to-end product flows.

What I bring to teams

  • Strong UX and interaction design fundamentals

  • Experience working within constraints and ambiguity

  • Clear communication and collaboration across disciplines

  • A structured, thoughtful approach to problem-solving

  • A focus on usability, accessibility, and real-world outcomes

I’m comfortable owning design problems end to end, while remaining open to feedback and iteration.

Outside of Work

Outside of product design, I enjoy learning new tools and technologies, exploring design systems, and staying curious about how digital products shape everyday behaviour. I value thoughtful work, continuous learning, and building things that genuinely help people.

Let's work together

If you’re building products that value clarity, usability, and thoughtful design, I’d be glad to explore how I can contribute.
